About The Position

This position is for a World Language Teacher specializing in Spanish within the Paterson Public Schools district. The role requires a candidate who can effectively teach a foreign language, understand child development and effective instructional strategies, and utilize assessment data for instructional improvement. The teacher will be expected to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community, and to use technology to enhance learning. The position is pending budget availability and is open for at least ten days or until filled. Requirements

  • Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate (Spanish)
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language
  • Knowledge of child growth and development
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies
  • Knowledge of classroom management
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and in another language, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
  • Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
  • Must be computer literate
  • Highly motivated result-driven educator
  • Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
