About The Position

This position is an integral part of the new program design for 14 and 15-year-old youth. Through this role, the selected candidates will have the opportunity to prepare participants for their entry into the workforce while simultaneously working on a project over the course of 6 weeks. Projects will be presented to stakeholders with the goal of showcasing the skills youth have gained. Each Workshop Facilitator will lead two groups of 14- and 15-year-old participants, with each group in session for 12.5 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must be computer literate and comfortable with technology (i.e. Zoom, Google Suite, Google Meet, Google Drive)
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 1 year facilitating dynamic work readiness workshops in-person and via Zoom
  • Must be comfortable traveling between program sites
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a diverse population
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Able to read, hear, and type

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • the ability to incorporate photography/videography or other media tools into learning a plus
  • experience with work readiness curriculum desired
  • Creative, professional, and an excellent sense of humor

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and engaging learning environment for all SYEP participants
  • Develop and lead professional development workshops with youth (such as program orientation, work readiness, financial literacy, teamwork and conflict resolution, time management, education and career exploration)
  • Provide informed educational, career exploration, and job readiness knowledge to support the individual needs of 14- and 15-year-old SYEP participants via a 6-week project
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with SYEP participants while providing mentorship and guidance
  • Maintain attendance records for all youth in designated groups
  • Submit weekly attendance reports for payroll processing
  • Complete weekly activity sheets to track attendance/progress for each participant assigned to designated groups
  • Administrative duties such as data entry, report generation
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
