Employees in this job perform professional assignments involving the review, investigation, and analysis of workplace operations, environments, equipment, and production methods in a broad range of general-industry workplaces. The purpose is to ensure adherence to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act (MIOSH Act) and other workplace safety rules and regulations, helping provide a safe and healthy work environment for Michigan workers. During this period, employees are typically expected to stay overnight at the training location in Lansing or Grand Rapids from Monday through Thursday. The position requires a Michigan driver’s license, an annual audiometric test, and mandatory respirator use, which requires an annual physical. Some positions may also require passing a hyperbaric tunnel physical as part of the hiring or interview process.
