About The Position

Join Colliers as a Workplace Planning Strategist, where you'll support clients in translating workplace strategy and business requirements into practical workplace, occupancy, and portfolio planning solutions. Sitting at the intersection of Workplace Strategy and Space & Occupancy Planning, this role combines analytical thinking, workplace planning expertise, and collaborative problem solving to help clients optimize their real estate portfolios, improve workplace performance, and plan for future business needs. The Workplace Planning Strategist serves as a dedicated planning resource for one or more client accounts, partnering closely with senior Workplace Strategy and Occupancy Planning professionals to deliver ongoing planning services. This role develops a strong understanding of each client's workplace standards, portfolio objectives, and planning priorities while producing high-quality analytical work and planning recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in Workplace Strategy, Space & Occupancy Planning, Corporate Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, formulas, and structured data analysis.
  • Strong PowerPoint and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of workplace planning, occupancy planning, utilization analytics, and portfolio planning principles.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and space plans; familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with IWMS or CAFM platforms and workplace reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in a corporate real estate consulting environment.
  • Intermediate AutoCAD skills.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Support one or more dedicated client accounts by providing ongoing workplace and occupancy planning services.
  • Develop productive working relationships with client real estate, workplace, and facilities teams.
  • Participate in recurring client meetings to understand business priorities and translate them into planning activities.
  • Contribute to consistent, responsive service delivery across assigned client portfolios.
  • Analyze occupancy, utilization, portfolio, and business data to identify trends and develop planning recommendations that improve space utilization and support business objectives.
  • Evaluate capacity, headcount forecasts, and workplace requirements to assess future space needs.
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel, IWMS platforms, and reporting tools to perform planning analyses and maintain accurate planning data.
  • Develop workplace, occupancy, and portfolio planning scenarios that support organizational growth, workplace evolution, and operational requirements.
  • Prepare stacking plans, adjacency studies, capacity analyses, space programs, and planning scenarios.
  • Partner with design resources to support test fits and evaluate planning alternatives.
  • Apply established workplace planning principles and occupancy standards to develop practical planning solutions.
  • Prepare clear, executive-quality presentations, planning reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Present planning analyses and recommendations to client stakeholders as appropriate and support senior team members in communicating project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Workplace Strategy, Space & Occupancy Planning, Design, Project Management, Technology, and client teams to deliver integrated workplace solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning methodologies, analytical tools, and delivery standards.
  • Deliver accurate, thoughtful planning recommendations that support client decision making.
  • Build strong working relationships with assigned client teams and internal project partners.
  • Consistently apply workplace planning standards and methodologies across client engagements.
