About The Position

Forge (backed by OpenAI and Founders Fund) is creating the next layer of human-computer interaction — combining the intelligence of AI with the reliability of software. We automate the most complex manual processes for the world's largest enterprises using a new English programming language that blends structured control flow with natural language instructions. Processes that once took hours can now be completed in a fraction of the time at superhuman quality. Forge is now deployed globally, powering critical workflows for Fortune 500 companies with 98%+ quality across half a million production runs. We’re hiring a high-agency Workplace Manager to own Forge’s physical environment, facilities, and the operational details that keep the team running. You’ll manage everything from building security and vendor relationships to laptop provisioning and getting the dishwasher fixed. No task is beneath you, and no one will be looking over your shoulder. To be clear: this is not an EA role. You won’t manage calendars or book travel. You’ll own the workplace end to end so the rest of the team can focus on building the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in workplace ops, office management, or facilities—ideally in a high-growth startup, VC firm, or founder-led company
  • High agency: you don’t wait to be told, you don’t need to be managed, and you take pride in running a tight ship
  • Hands-on facilities and property management experience
  • Strong vendor negotiation and cost optimization skills
  • Track record of building systems from scratch, not just maintaining them
  • Calm, organized, and unfazed by the unglamorous side of the work

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in workplace ops / office management / internal ops / executive support (or adjacent)
  • Experience in a high-growth startup, VC firm, or founder-led environment
  • Proven vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and operational rigor
  • Has built systems from scratch and can create structure without being told how
  • Extremely organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and high ownership
  • High standards and strong taste - you notice what’s off and fix it

Responsibilities

  • System Builder: You don't just follow a checklist; you build the checklist, the vendor pipeline, and the maintenance schedule from scratch.
  • Facilities and property management: maintenance, HVAC, security, building compliance (e.g. fire department assignments), space planning, and contractor coordination
  • Vendor management end to end: sourcing, negotiation, contracts, invoicing, and performance for cleaning, catering, supplies, and IT equipment
  • Equipment provisioning: laptop ordering, setup, and inventory so every new hire ships ready on day one
  • Employee experience: build milestone programs (birthdays, anniversaries) from scratch, scout and book venues for events and launches, and keep shared spaces clean, stocked, and functional
  • Onboarding logistics: coordinate day-one readiness for new hires and work trials
  • Operational administration: support employee visa logistics, serve as a full-time company agent for tax registrations and compliance filings, and contribute to the employee handbook (holidays, expense policy, office norms)
