As a Workplace Mental Health Consultant, you will provide management consultations, trainings, critical incident response, and assessment and referral mental health support to employees at a combined multinational pharmaceutical and medical technical healthcare company. You may also provide consultation to Human Resources (HR), program managers, and supervisors on workplace and organizational issues. This role will report to a Spring Health Clinical Manager.

Requirements

  • You hold an active, unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy in Ontario (e.g., Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Registered Social Worker (RSW), Psychologist, or other regulated mental health professional authorized to provide psychotherapy). We are unable to consider applicants who require clinical supervision to practice independently.
  • A master’s degree in a relevant mental health discipline is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and become adept with the foundational elements of the Canadian Standards Association’s (CSA) The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience with at least 1 year experience as an independently licensed clinician.
  • You have training and experience in delivering management consultation, critical incident response, and training presentations
  • You're comfortable with technology and are telehealth competent.
  • You have training and experience in evidence-based modalities of care, including short-term, solution-focused therapy
  • You are comfortable with providing safety planning and intervention during situations where a client might present with higher risks.
  • You are committed to high quality documentation of service delivery that is completed in a timely manner
  • You like working independently, but would also enjoy having the support of a team and opportunities for connections and collaboration with other providers and our master’s level clinical care navigators.
  • You acknowledge and embrace diversity and inclusion amongst teams and clients
  • Ability to summarize all interactions in English within Spring Health’s online documentation systems.
  • Requirements: You're comfortable with technology and are telehealth competent.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a The Working Mind licensed facilitator is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting employees by promoting and explaining company offerings, including participation in tabling events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships are a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple sites as needed.
  • Experience supporting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) and internal stakeholders to promote inclusive, culturally responsive mental health support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and support to managers, teams, and members that enhances employee wellbeing and workplace effectiveness onsite at the customer location every Tuesday in Markham, Ontario and Wednesday in North York, Ontario from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM ET.
  • Provide solution-focused employee mental health consultation and connection to appropriate resources.
  • Proactively cultivate strong relationships with key customer contacts, Spring Health managers, and internal stakeholders, as well as actively participate in both customer and Spring Health meetings as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and deliver critical incident response
  • Conduct company tailored trainings and Spring Health benefit promotion events
  • Develop expert-level understanding of the customer benefit ecosystem and available support programs, and are able to provide appropriate referrals to members.
  • Complete required internal training and assignments and attend Spring Health Clinical Team meetings
  • Follow Spring Health policies and maintain all confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards
  • Track and monitor available data to identify strategic workplace wellbeing insights, recommend targeted interventions, and collaborate with customer points of contact to coordinate effective support. Assess for risk and manage member and organizational crises by providing in-the-moment support, triage, safety planning, and follow up.
  • Provide management consultation that enhances employee wellbeing and workplace effectiveness.
  • Complete management referral intakes according to established guidelines; assure appropriate placement of management referred employees; provide guidance regarding EAP protocols to counselors working with employees.
  • Identify and problem-solve issues that serve as a barrier or disruption to care, with support from leadership.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of all service delivery.
  • Represent Spring Health and help to support/reinforce program parameters and goals.
  • Communicate with local points of contact and cascade any needs to Spring Health partners through routine meetings and touchpoints.
  • Proactively develop relationships with key customer contacts and attend customer meetings as requested/appropriate.
