About The Position

Crusoe is seeking an organized, proactive, and execution-driven Workplace Design & Construction Project Manager to oversee workplace design and construction projects across its expanding global portfolio. This role involves managing projects from the initial planning and scoping phases through design, construction, occupancy, and final closeout. The Project Manager will be responsible for driving project schedules, budgets, design coordination, vendor performance, and cross-functional workstreams, ensuring all projects align with Crusoe’s workplace standards, operational requirements, and employee experience objectives. Projects may encompass new office buildouts, expansions, relocations, renovations, space reconfigurations, workplace refreshes, and furniture installations. The Project Manager will lead assigned projects independently, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, architects, contractors, consultants, landlords, and vendors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery. Additionally, the Project Manager will collaborate with teams managing Crusoe’s colocation, data center, and manufacturing sites, offering workplace planning and design expertise for the office and employee-facing aspects of these projects. This includes programming, space planning, workplace standards, employee experience, and FF&E procurement, while the overall project remains under the purview of the respective business or project team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in workplace design and construction, commercial real estate, architecture, interior design, construction management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing office buildouts, tenant improvements, renovations, expansions, relocations, or similar workplace projects.
  • Strong understanding of the design and construction process from programming and test fits through design development, permitting, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, consultants, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to review and provide meaningful feedback on architectural drawings, furniture plans, specifications, and design packages.
  • Working knowledge of construction terminology, project delivery processes, procurement, and FF&E.
  • Strong judgment and ability to independently resolve project issues while recognizing when escalation or leadership alignment is required.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar project-management tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, construction management, real estate, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • PMP, LEED, or another relevant professional certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned workplace design and construction projects from initial scoping and programming through design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Establish and manage project scope, budget, schedule, milestones, risks, dependencies, and key decision points.
  • Drive day-to-day project execution and maintain accountability across architects, contractors, consultants, vendors, landlords, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings, communicate status and decisions, identify risks early, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Manage project decisions within established scope and budget while escalating material changes, risks, and strategic decisions as appropriate.
  • Manage design development, permitting, construction, installations, inspections, punch lists, occupancy readiness, turnover, and project closeout.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Workplace, IT, AV, Security, Brand & Creative, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and other business partners.
  • Develop project delivery strategies, phasing plans, and sequencing approaches that minimize business disruption while maintaining project objectives.
  • Manage external project managers and consultants where applicable and ensure clear ownership, accountability, and performance.
  • Support portfolio-level initiatives and larger strategic projects as part of the broader Workplace Design & Construction team.
  • Lead programming and requirements gathering and translate business, employee, and operational needs into practical workplace solutions.
  • Review and provide direction on test fits, architectural plans, furniture layouts, finish selections, and design packages.
  • Ensure projects align with Crusoe’s workplace design standards while appropriately adapting solutions to local conditions, operational requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Partner with teams responsible for colocation, data center, and manufacturing projects to define and deliver the workplace and office components of these environments.
  • Serve as the Workplace Design & Construction representative for assigned cross-business projects, providing guidance on programming, space planning, workplace design, employee experience, and FF&E.
  • Identify opportunities to improve space efficiency, functionality, employee experience, and consistency across locations.
  • Partner with Workplace and Brand & Creative to create a cohesive and recognizable Crusoe experience across the portfolio.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, commitments, invoices, contingencies, and change-order logs.
  • Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify potential budget impacts, savings opportunities, and forecast changes.
  • Lead or support competitive bidding, proposal evaluation, vendor selection, contracting, purchase orders, and vendor onboarding.
  • Review vendor proposals and change orders for scope, cost, schedule, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Manage FF&E planning, specifications, pricing, procurement, delivery, installation, and punch-list coordination.
  • Track long-lead items and procurement milestones and proactively address risks that could impact project delivery.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Procurement to maintain accurate project forecasts, commitments, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure complete and organized project documentation, including drawings, contracts, approvals, specifications, warranties, as-builts, and closeout materials.
