About The Position

Energy Pellets of America is currently hiring for a Working Supervisor / Pellet Mill Equipment Operator. This role involves managing 2nd shift employees, including work schedules, task assignments, and performance monitoring, while also operating and maintaining pellet mill equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good attendance, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Energy Pellets of America, established in 2015, manufactures premium wood pellets for fuel and animal bedding in Wilmington, OH, utilizing waste resources to create clean-burning energy.

Requirements

  • Machine operating experience
  • Computer experience
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Ability to read and count
  • Ability to communicate with the manufacturer of the equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to stand on concrete for extended periods of time
  • Able to read a micrometer
  • Must be able to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Previous supervisor experience
  • Mechanically inclined

Responsibilities

  • Manage 2nd shift employees' work schedules, assign tasks and duties, and plan work schedules.
  • Guide employees through daily work activities and monitor employee performance to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Relay information between employees and upper management.
  • Run the pellet mill, bagging machine, and shrink wrap equipment.
  • Maintain and clean equipment as needed.
  • Perform field functions related to the start-up and operation of all process and packaging equipment.
  • Clean and maintain mills, including setting rolls.
  • Monitor mills and coolers for unusual sights and sounds, and check pellets for quality (length, color, durability, moisture).
  • Keep the mill and cooler area clean.
  • Clean the bagging system and start the bagger with correct bags.
  • Start up the palletizer, robot, and wrapper.
  • Reset counters on the bagger and wrapper.
  • Ensure the scale is set to the correct weight for bag size and that robot counts are correct.
  • Check seals on bags at the bagger and wrapper.
  • Conduct quality control tests for pellet product.
  • Make plant adjustments for improving plant production and/or product quality.
  • Use forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Assist during periods of maintenance downtime.
  • Ensure all products are shipped or stored properly and counted accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, orderly, and accident-free work environment, including all warehouse work areas, aisles, and trucks.
