About The Position

This is a hands-on leadership position requiring active participation in daily grinding and production operations while supervising and supporting a 2-3-person 2nd shift team.

  • Safely operate forklifts and industrial equipment
  • Maintain close and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision necessary for operating machinery and completing documentation

Nice To Haves

  • > 2 years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Basic computer and production reporting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a 2–3 person grinding team during 2nd shift operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and attendance expectations are met
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor workflow and production output, and adjust operations as needed to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
  • Set up, operate, and monitor grinding equipment while occasionally operating baling equipment as needed
  • Train, coach, and support employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, company policies, and performance expectations
  • Collaborate with management/HR to complete disciplinary actions, corrective action documentation, and performance evaluations
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinate preventative maintenance activities, and escalate major concerns when necessary
  • Inspect processed materials for contamination, consistency, and overall product quality
  • Safely operate forklifts and assist with material handling, staging, and production flow throughout the shift
  • Complete production reports, inventory tracking, shift communication, and other required documentation accurately and timely
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while promoting continuous improvement and effective communication across departments
