About The Position

Adams Stove Company is seeking an experienced, hands-on hearth installation professional to lead a small installation team of three. This is a working management position, not desk-based. The ideal candidate will lead the crew, make sound decisions in the field, communicate effectively with customers and management, and actively participate in installations. Substantial experience installing and servicing wood pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts, along with a strong understanding of venting and installation requirements, is essential. The role involves taking ownership from preparation through completion.

Requirements

  • Significant hands-on experience with wood pellet and/or gas hearth appliance installation.
  • Experience installing stoves, fireplaces, and/or inserts.
  • Strong understanding of venting, clearances, hearth requirements, and installation procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation instructions.
  • Experience leading or supervising other installers or tradespeople.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems in the field.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • A strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to work physically and safely in construction environments.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Current Construction Supervisor License (CSL), as required for the position.

  • Experience servicing wood pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a two-to-three person installation crew.
  • Personally participate in installations every day.
  • Install wood pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts.
  • Install and work with venting, chimney systems, hearth components, and related materials.
  • Read and interpret installation manuals, plans, and specifications.
  • Determine the proper installation approach and resolve field issues.
  • Assign work and keep the crew productive.
  • Inspect work for quality and compliance with manufacturer requirements and applicable codes.
  • Train and develop less-experienced installers.
  • Coordinate materials, tools, deliveries, and jobsite preparation.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers.
  • Identify problems before they become expensive callbacks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized jobsite.
  • Take responsibility for getting the installation completed correctly and professionally.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $38–$45/hour, depending on experience, licensing, and demonstrated skills.
