About The Position

The JVS Integrated Employment Services (IES) program, funded by MLITSD and managed by WCG, offers employment services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds, and skill levels. The program aims to help clients gain and retain employment in their field or a related one by providing one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops, job development/placement services, and job retention supports. The IES program also collaborates with other programs to ensure efficient operations and smooth client referrals. The Workforce Specialist (WFS) team is specifically tasked with developing relationships with employers to secure job opportunities.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Sales or Marketing, or equivalency (new graduates welcome)
  • Comfortable with lead generation, cold calling, presentations, and research
  • At least 1 year of experience in sales, outreach, staffing, and/or telemarketing
  • Proven ability to leverage a sales model to produce an optimal number of job leads
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding the barriers they face
  • A clear Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is required for this position

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset, as local travel is required
  • Ability to speak another language is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Cold Calling: Proactively engage in daily prospecting and cold calling activities, leveraging a variety of sales and job development techniques to generate qualified job leads.
  • Account Acquisition: Highlight the value of our programs and services to businesses, focusing on acquiring new accounts and establishing ongoing employer relationships.
  • Client Placement: Match job seeker clients to suitable job openings and place clients into positions, including subsidized placements.
  • Retention Monitoring: Maintain retention outcomes in accordance with established KPIs, providing ongoing assistance to address work-related issues.
  • Community Outreach: Forge partnerships with community and culturally specific organizations to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain confidential records using our CRM tool to ensure accuracy and facilitate effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Research and Planning: Conduct research and planning to generate job leads and align them with labor market and client needs.
  • Conduct outreach to sector specific employers in order to provide job search assistance and job matching to bridge program participants and other programs as needed.
