About The Position

This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and /or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients. The Workforce Training Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-focused training to adult learners, employers, and workforce development participants throughout the state of Texas. This part-time position provides instruction in business, management, leadership, project management, workplace communication, customer service, critical thinking, quality improvement, office technology, and other professional skills. The instructor will facilitate engaging, practical learning experiences designed to help participants develop skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Training may be delivered in person at employer or campus locations throughout Texas. The successful candidate will bring a combination of professional experience, instructional ability, and practical knowledge of today’s workplace. The position requires significant statewide travel and the ability to adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of diverse industries, organizations, and adult learners.

Requirements

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Management, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, Project Management, Workforce Development, Education, Information Technology, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience.
Three (3) years of professional experience in business, management, leadership, project management, workforce development, training, operations, technology, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience presenting, facilitating, training, teaching, or delivering professional development to adults.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to develop and deliver engaging instructional presentations and activities.
Ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and practical manner.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple training assignments and priorities.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the state of Texas.
Ability to travel independently throughout Texas.
Ability to transport and utilize instructional materials and equipment as needed.
Ability to deliver training in a variety of workplace and classroom environments.
Ability to stand, walk, present, and facilitate activities for extended periods.
Ability to work effectively with participants from diverse professional, educational, and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to adapt instructional delivery to different audiences, industries, and learning environments.
If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form. You will be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States. Documents need to be presented no later than the third day of employment. Failure to do so will result in loss of employment at TSTC.
A criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

Responsibilities

Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
Deliver instructor-led workforce training programs for adult learners in business, leadership, management, professional development, technology, and workplace skills.
Facilitate courses in areas such as: Management Fundamentals, Leadership and Supervisory Skills, Workplace Communication, Professionalism in the Workplace, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Office Management, Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Internet and workplace technology.
Deliver both introductory and intermediate/advanced training based on participant skill levels and employer needs.
Facilitate interactive learning activities, discussions, demonstrations, simulations, group exercises, and hands-on activities.
Maintain current knowledge of business practices, leadership principles, project management methodologies, workplace technology, quality improvement practices, and emerging workforce trends.
Work with workforce development staff and employer partners to understand training objectives and customize instructional content when appropriate.
Provide a professional and engaging learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application.
Represent the institution professionally when delivering training at employer worksites, campuses, conferences, and other locations.
Travel extensively throughout Texas to provide on-site workforce training.
Maintain flexibility to accommodate varying training schedules, locations, and employer needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
