About The Position

The Workforce Development Pharmacy Technician Instructor delivers training that prepares students for entry-level roles in pharmacy settings. This role provides instruction in pharmacy principles, medication safety, and regulations, while supporting student success and readiness for certification and employment. This is a part-time evening program teaching 2-3 nights a week from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and or combination of experience and education
  • Valid Driver's License (Standard)
  • Effective June 28, 2026, Pennsylvania requires all pharmacy technicians to be registered with the PA State Board of Pharmacy. If you are not currently registered, you must obtain registration by June 28, 2026.
  • PA ACT-15 (Standard)
  • Employees must comply with PA Act 15. You will need to present completed clearances and training certificates at the time of hire.
  • Provide your own technology equipment: Your own computer (Windows, Linux, or Macintosh desktop or laptop) with current web browser installed (Firefox, Edge, Safari, Chrome)
  • Access to broadband internet connection at all times during employment (DSL, 4G/LTE, FIOS, Satellite, or Cable/Xfinity/Comcast)
  • Equipment/technology which enables you to communicate synchronously during meetings and other events, such as USB Headset, speaker and microphone, captioning services, adaptive technology, assistive devices, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction for the Pharmacy Technician program in alignment with curriculum and industry standards
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
  • Teach pharmacy fundamentals, calculations, medication safety, and regulations
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback and academic support
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and program records
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy requirements and program guidelines
  • Support students in preparation for certification exams (e.g., PTCB)
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development staff and participate in program improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
