About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, engaging Instructor of Computer Applications to join our instructional team on a part-time, as-needed basis. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, hands-on training that equips adult learners with essential digital skills in Microsoft Office applications and Intuit QuickBooks for use in professional, administrative, and business environments. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and QuickBooks, along with the ability to teach practical, real-world skills that support workplace readiness and career advancement. This position supports workforce development by preparing learners for employment in office administration, business operations, accounting support, and related fields.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Information Technology, Office Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with Intuit QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) in bookkeeping, accounting, or business operations
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must comply with PA Act 15. You will need to present completed clearances and training certificates at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience teaching or training adult learners preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to break down technical concepts into clear, accessible instruction
  • Familiarity with workplace digital literacy standards and employer expectations

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Intuit QuickBooks
  • Teach learners how to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email communications, and basic financial records
  • Demonstrate real-world applications such as budgeting, invoicing, scheduling, reporting, and file management
  • Emphasize digital literacy, accuracy, organization, and workplace professionalism
  • Provide meaningful, timely feedback on learner assignments and performance
  • Record attendance and maintain accurate course documentation
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with employer, industry, and workforce development expectations
  • Prepare hands-on activities, practice files, and real-world scenarios to reinforce learning
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
