About The Position

In support of upcoming projects, Bird Construction is reaching out to market to identify candidates interested in the Workface Planner position. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the WorkFace Planner will work closely with the project manager and superintendent to plan activities at the WorkFace and ensure the achievement of the company’s objectives. This position is site based on a project site in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. What You Will Be Working On What You Will Be Working On Develop installation work packages (FIWP). Acts as a liaison between project controls and workforce supervision. Responsible to ensure all necessary resources are available prior to releasing a FIWP and monitoring control of the FIWP. Determining and coordinating resource requirements and liaising with resource coordinators. Establish a regular cadence and process for refreshing and refining workforce plans, roll-up & action plans with senior management. Implement the Construction Execution Plan. Ensure intended safety requirements are properly conveyed to workforce supervision. Preparing required project IWP, which includes determining required activities, resources, special conditions, quality control, risk planning, interdependencies. Requirements

  • Relevant combination of education and experience
  • 5 years’ experience working on construction sites an asset
  • Completed Construction Safety Training Systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, data visualization and abilities to create and work in complex financial models
  • Have a basic understanding of project scheduling and estimating techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written
  • Have knowledge of health, safety and environmental programs
  • Know general construction and materials systems and procedures
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to converse with technical professionals as well as operations end users
