About The Position

The Workers Compensation Claims Examiner analyzes New York lost-time claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due. The role ensures ongoing claim adjudication meets service expectations, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements. It involves investigating claims, developing action plans, negotiating settlements within designated authority, communicating with claimants and clients, and reporting claims to excess carriers. The position is hybrid for employees within commuting distance of the Syracuse, New York office and remote for those outside that distance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• New York jurisdiction knowledge.
• New York license required.

• Professional certification applicable to the line of business.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to achieve appropriate and timely resolution.
• Investigate claims and gather information to determine claim exposure.
