About The Position

Our client, a well-established and respected South Florida law firm, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its West Palm Beach office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of Florida workers' compensation experience, strong litigation and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney seeking to join a highly regarded practice with an established presence in South Florida and a strong commitment to client advocacy and results.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with The Florida Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of Florida workers' compensation experience
  • Strong knowledge of Florida workers' compensation law and procedure
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage workers' compensation matters
  • Significant experience with depositions, mediations, hearings, negotiations, and case resolution
  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to effectively manage a substantial caseload and competing deadlines
  • Sound legal judgment and strong attention to detail
  • Professional, client-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a caseload of Florida workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution
  • Evaluate claims, medical records, wage information, benefits, and other case-related documentation
  • Develop case strategies and provide knowledgeable legal counsel throughout the claims and litigation process
  • Draft and file petitions, motions, discovery, responses, and other legal documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, medical providers, and experts
  • Attend mediations, hearings, conferences, and other workers' compensation proceedings
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to achieve favorable resolutions
  • Prepare matters for final hearings and litigation when necessary
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and expectations
  • Ensure all deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements are handled accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other members of the legal team
  • Stay current on developments in Florida workers' compensation statutes, regulations, and case law
