About The Position

This is a part-time position responsible for maintaining and caring for sites and school campuses. The role involves a variety of tasks related to groundskeeping, equipment maintenance, and minor repairs. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and utilization of basic computer applications for communication and record keeping.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of a variety of sites equipment, tools, seeds, and fertilizers and related products and their uses.
  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
  • Ability to install and repair outdoor equipment areas, driveways, parking lots, and fencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
  • Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of related experience.
  • Valid Florida Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with air brakes endorsement.
  • Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and care for sites and school campuses including asphalt repairs.
  • Assist in the grading of soil and installation of sod and mulch.
  • Mow lawns with hand and/or power tools.
  • Maintain and service all sites equipment.
  • Collect and dispose of leaves and refuse.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of fencing and playground equipment.
  • Spray for weed control and fertilization.
  • Operate related equipment such as bat wing mower, dump truck, bucket truck, front end loader, bobcat, trencher, and tractor with box blade.
  • Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
  • Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required.
  • Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Maintain driver and CDL Licensure and required endorsements if applicable.
  • Any job-related duties as assigned.
