As FSRA’s Workday Technical Lead, the position is accountable for the enterprise-wide technical ownership, architecture, and governance of the Workday platform. The position defines enterprise design standards, integration frameworks, data governance, and security controls to ensure a secure, scalable, and high‑performing Workday platform that aligns with FSRA’s technology and regulatory requirements. The position provides enterprise‑wide oversight of platform integrity, cross‑functional system design, and long‑term optimization across HR, Finance, and planning.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, (or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday system and Workday Adaptive Planning configuration and implementation.
  • Proven track record in designing and developing custom Workday reports, dashboards, and integrations.
  • Advanced understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle, including requirements, gathering, design. development, testing, and move to production.
  • Strong understanding of Workday data models, business processes, and security framework.
  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, web services (REST, SOAP), and SQL.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment to establish design standards, integration frameworks, data governance, and security controls.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of system‑level decisions.
  • Ability to solve highly complex problems by working with cross-functional teams from IT and business across different regions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project management skills, and the ability to meet milestones/deadlines.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and tooling.

  • Workday Pro certification
  • Experience with Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), and Workday security is highly desirable.
  • Experience participating in or supporting Workday implementations, post‑go‑live optimization, or ongoing production support.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical leadership for the design, configuration, and optimization of all Workday modules across HCM and Finance.
  • Leads solution design that ensures cross-module integrity between HCM and Finance, enabling accurate downstream financials, reporting, and planning.
  • Configures and maintains calculated fields, business process frameworks, condition rules, validations, and advanced Workday objects to support complex organizational requirements.
  • Applies deep understanding of Workday’s data model and architecture to ensure scalable, maintainable, and supportable solutions.
  • Oversees the design and governance of advanced custom reports, dashboards, scorecards, and composite reports to support operational, regulatory, and executive reporting needs.
  • Leverages Workday Insights, People Analytics, and AI-driven features to enable data-driven decision-making and predictive insights.
  • Partners with stakeholders to identify and implement AI- and machine-learning-enabled Workday capabilities, ensuring practical business value and data readiness.
  • Ensures reporting consistency, accuracy, and performance across HCM, Finance, and Adaptive Planning.
  • Architects and oversees complex integrations between Workday and enterprise systems using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs, and third-party tools.
  • Ensures reliable, secure, and compliant data flows across HR, Finance, Payroll, Banking, and external vendors.
  • Establishes integration standards, monitoring, and error-handling practices to support operational stability.
  • Operates at an enterprise level, focusing on platform integrity, cross-functional system design, and long-term optimization across HR, Finance, and planning functions.
  • Leads the technical configuration and ongoing support of Workday Adaptive Planning, including model design, version management, dimension structures, and data granularity.
  • Integrates Adaptive Planning with Workday Financial Management and HCM to enable accurate workforce, financial, and scenario planning.
  • Supports forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes through robust system design and automation.
  • Acts as the technical escalation point for complex, enterprise-level system, data, security, and integration issues requiring architectural or systemic resolution.
  • Provides technical direction and root cause analysis for systemic issues impacting platform performance, data integrity, and system reliability.
  • Partners with Workday Customer Support and third-party vendors to escalate, track, and resolve critical incidents.
  • Leads technical planning and execution for Workday bi-annual releases, feature enablement, regressions testing, and post-release stabilization.
  • Evaluates new Workday functionality across HCM, Finance, AI, and Adaptive Planning and provide recommendations aligned to FSRA’s roadmap.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, usability, automation, and business value.
  • Oversees day-to-day technical administration and operational stability of the Workday platform, including tenant integrity, security administration, and environment readiness.
  • Ensures data integrity, auditability, and reconciliation across HCM, Finance, and planning data.
  • Designs and maintain role-based security models, domain security policies, and business process security in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate access controls are in place to safeguard sensitive HR and financial information and maintain confidentiality and compliance.
  • Supports internal and external audits by providing technical documentation and evidence related to system configuration and controls.
  • Acts as the primary technical liaison between FSRA, Workday Customer Support, and external AMS/service providers, ensuring effective coordination, issue resolution, and delivery oversight.
  • Provides expert technical advisory to stakeholders on Workday capabilities, design options, constraints, and optimization opportunities.
  • Translates business requirements into enterprise-aligned technical solutions, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability.
  • Develops and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, configurations, integrations, release impacts, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Establishes best practices, standards, and reusable patterns to support platform sustainability and team capability development.
