About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Workday Configurator/Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Workday Payroll and Time Tracking/Time & Attendance. This role will support the configuration, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of Workday HCM solutions for a large apparel/retail organization. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional and technical knowledge of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, and related HCM business processes, with a proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations. Experience supporting retail or apparel organizations, particularly those with hourly employees, multiple locations, complex work schedules, overtime rules, and high-volume payroll operations, is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience in configuration/development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Time Tracking / Time & Attendance.
  • Experience with Workday Absence Management and its integration with Time Tracking/Payroll.
  • Experience supporting retail, apparel, consumer products, or other large hourly-workforce environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday configuration concepts, including: Business Processes, Condition Rules, Calculated Fields, Security, Eligibility Rules, Workday Reports, EIBs, Integrations.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving Payroll and Time Tracking configuration issues.
  • Experience working through Workday testing, deployments, releases, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of payroll and timekeeping business processes.
  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into Workday solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday Payroll implementations or major deployments.
  • Experience integrating Workday with time clocks/timekeeping platforms and third-party payroll systems.
  • Experience with Workday Studio and/or integration technologies.
  • Experience with Core Connectors, EIB, PECI, PICOF, or other Workday integration technologies.
  • Workday certifications in Payroll, Time Tracking, HCM, or related areas.
  • Experience with Workday production support in a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on Workday configuration and development across Payroll and Time Tracking/Time & Attendance modules.
  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, calculations, eligibility rules, validations, condition rules, and related security.
  • Configure Time Tracking, including time entry, time calculation rules, time blocks, time-off integration, overtime, premiums, and approval processes.
  • Support Workday Payroll configuration, including payroll calculations, deductions, earnings, pay components, tax-related configurations, and payroll processing.
  • Develop and maintain Workday calculated fields, reports, integrations, and custom validations to support Payroll and Time/Attendance requirements.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective Workday configurations and technical solutions.
  • Support integrations between Workday and time clocks, scheduling systems, payroll providers, benefits systems, HR systems, and other enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshoot payroll and timekeeping issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement configuration fixes.
  • Support payroll parallel testing, regression testing, integration testing, and production validation.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Timekeeping, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Participate in Workday releases, assess impacts to Payroll and Time Tracking functionality, and implement required changes.
  • Create and maintain configuration documentation, test scripts, technical specifications, and support documentation.
  • Provide production support and assist with issue resolution during critical payroll cycles.
  • Support complex hourly workforce environments across stores, distribution centers, corporate offices, and other locations.
  • Configure solutions supporting multiple pay groups, work locations, shifts, schedules, overtime rules, differentials, premiums, and timekeeping policies.
  • Support business requirements related to store employees, seasonal employees, part-time/full-time employees, and distribution-center workers.
  • Understand retail payroll challenges such as variable schedules, shift differentials, overtime, meal/rest rules, holiday pay, and high-volume time entry.
  • Collaborate with business teams to standardize Workday processes across a geographically distributed retail organization.
  • Participate in OP monthly team meetings and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
