About The Position

This is an open position with Harrison Power Station, Mon Power., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [MP]

Requirements

  • Must have at least a two-year technical degree in a related field from an accredited school or the equivalent in education, training and experience. Equivalency should be in electrical maintenance with demonstrated electrical skills and abilities and/or electrical work management planning at a power station.
  • Must have passed the Edison Electric institute’s POSS 8/MASS test and the RAMSAY test.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and prepare sketches of material, equipment and processes.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of power station systems, equipment operation and repair and procedures from both production and maintenance perspectives.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others inside and outside the plant through verbal communication, e-mails, memos and reports.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the maintenance, repair, safety and environmental practices of the station's departments.
  • Must possess knowledge of and be able to utilize required corporate databases.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to work from detailed drawings, diagrams, specifications and blueprints.
  • Must know the names of individual parts of equipment, instruments, etc. and be able to identify them to stores personnel.
  • Must be able to effectively plan and organize work assignments and maintain effectiveness in a variety of work environments and conditions.
  • Must have strong estimating and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to train, develop and coach others in the work management process.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work outside regular shift when required, with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing work requests to develop detailed job packages in accordance with standard company work management practices using SAP and other related computer applications and shall be in accordance with all safety procedures and environmental laws.
  • Conducting job field scoping and preparing detailed job plans for the performance of work that includes but is not limited to potential safety hazards, environmental hazards, labor estimates, material requirements, drawings, manufacturers literature, and special tooling requirements.
  • Maintaining a backlog of work and keeping assigned work requests planned in a timely fashion with emphasis placed on safety and environmental issues.
  • Initiating the acquisition of equipment, tools, and materials to facilitate the planning process.
  • Identifying needs for outside services when necessary to complete work requests.
  • Generating requests for contract purchase orders and scheduling contract work as necessary.
  • Partnering with stores to identify and tag reserved materials for planned jobs and determine staging requirements.
  • Verifying parts for correctness.
  • Using computers and relative software for the execution of the planning processes such as SAP, IBM Content Navigator, 3E, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Maintaining planning related data files.
  • Preparing and analyzing work management process reports.
  • Maintaining an accurate status of assigned work orders at all times.
  • Assisting in reviewing and assigning priorities on planned job packages.
  • Developing standard packages for all work as assigned.
  • Initiating and reading drawings.
  • Coaching others involved in the work management planning process.
  • Maintaining SAP data such as but not limited to, equipment bill of material, task lists, functional locations and SAP documents.
