The Work Control Clerk performs specialized clerical work in coordinating functions for dispatch and maintenance of USAF vehicles, AGE, BEAR Base, and other commodities managed by the Global Prepositioned Materiel Services Program (GPMS). This role involves planning and scheduling maintenance, tracking services and costs, and maintaining detailed work performance records. The clerk will also be responsible for gathering, inputting, retrieving, and maintaining maintenance information in both computer and manual systems, as well as providing general clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department. Duties include filing, photocopying, faxing, posting notices, and ordering parts and supplies. The position requires developing and issuing computer reports, assisting with material preparation, and preparing summary reports of transportation and maintenance costs. Additionally, the clerk will research the availability and source of purchase for emergency and critical spare parts and repair parts, compiling information such as item identification, costs, vendor details, and freight charges for purchasing all maintenance materials. The role involves preparing purchase requisitions, coordinating and expediting approvals, maintaining budgetary records, and following up with accounting, buyers, vendors, requestors, and receiving. Reviewing documents for sufficiency and maintaining necessary follow-up are also key responsibilities. The clerk will maintain all files and inventory records of orders placed and received, including delivery schedules, and keep an up-to-date record of materials used to maintain minimum stock levels. Other duties as assigned.
