About The Position

Facilitates career-oriented education by teaching internship courses, coordinating work-based learning experiences, and serving as a liaison between Cherry Creek School District, students, families, and business and industry partners. This role is responsible for establishing and managing internship opportunities, determining student eligibility in collaboration with home high school counselors, and ensuring compliance with CTE program requirements. The WBL Teacher also manages industry partnerships and utilizes data systems to track student progress and program outcomes.

Requirements

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
Minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in a career and technical education field or related industry
Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) secondary teaching license or CTE authorization
Ability to obtain Secondary CTE Work-based Learning Coordinator Credential within six (6) months of hire
Colorado driver’s license
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including students, families, educators, and business partners
Strong presentation skills across various settings
Experience establishing partnerships with business and industry
Experience organizing groups, coordinating activities, and supervising projects with an emphasis on innovation and student achievement
Advanced knowledge of Colorado Career and Technical Education
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Responsibilities

Manage WBL student placement for internships, including scheduling, enrollment, onboarding, and logistical support.
Teach WBL Seminar courses to prepare and support students in work-based learning experiences.
Promote ongoing WBL and internship opportunities to the school community, including students, teachers, counselors, and industry partners through multiple communication channels.
Build and maintain relationships with Internship & Job Shadow sites and support sites in transition to Pre-Apprenticeships & Apprenticeships in collaboration with Partner of Apprenticeship.
Monitor and evaluate student performance at internship sites through site visits, employer feedback, and student reflections.
Maintain and manage Salesforce records for work-based learning students and programs.
Partner with the Work-based Learning Team to create valuable WBL experiences, processes and procedures, and curricula.
Manage compliance requirements and accurate data collection and reporting.
Represent the CCSD WBL Team at industry events, conferences, and community engagements to promote programs and expand partnerships.
Collaborate with the Work-based Learning Team and Career & Innovation Department to support departmental mission and vision.
