About The Position

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Cherry Creek School District Event Center (Pathways Pavilion). Oversee day-to-day operational, financial, and client-service functions to ensure excellence in event execution and alignment with district goals. Embed student work-based learning into all facets of event center operations, engaging students from CTE pathways such as hospitality, culinary, and event management. Advance Cherry Creek Schools’ mission by collaborating with district and community partners to connect education to real-world career experiences through professional, student-powered event operations.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or similar field
  • Fifteen (15) years of professional work experience in event management, venue operations, or hospitality administration
  • Five (5) years of supervisory or managerial capacity in a high-volume venue
  • National Restaurant Association Serve Safe Food Handlers and or Serve Safe certification
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Creative and effective problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate and supervise people in a site-based environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred with emphasis in Hospitality, Business Administration or other related field
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • CMP, CVP or CEM certification (Certified Meeting Professional, Certified Venue Professional, Certified Event Manager) or the ability to obtain one within 1 year
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Advanced knowledge of Colorado Career and Technical Education

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and leads the daily Event Center operations, including scheduling, logistics, and safety of clients, student interns, and student employees, including evening events with students and student employees present.
  • Develops and enforces standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for event setup, service quality, and post event.
  • Collaborates with custodial, culinary, security and IT teams to ensure seamless execution of the events.
  • Ensures compliance with health department regulations, fire and security requirements, insurance standards and department of labor policies.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises event staff and student teams for school day, evening, and weekend events.
  • Develops onboarding and on-the-job training programs, to ensure consistency, safety, and service excellence.
  • Plans and manages student internships and apprenticeships aligned with hospitality, culinary, and event management pathways.
  • Partners with instructors to ensure quality training and compliance with youth labor standards.
  • Leads client relations, sales, and marketing initiatives.
  • Develops strategies to promote the Event Center, builds client relationships, and manages CRM tools to maintain a strong business pipeline.
  • Manages the Event Center’s budget.
  • Monitors revenue and expenses, establishes pricing tiers, and oversees contracts, purchasing, and vendor agreements to ensure fiscal sustainability.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with industry and community organizations to expand client relationships and enhance student career opportunities.
  • Represents the Event Center at conferences to elevate its visibility.
  • Tracks key performance metrics, leads process improvements, and ensures compliance with district policies.
  • Prepares and presents quarterly performance reports and forecasts to district leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
