The Work-Based Learning Specialist supports the development and expansion of meaningful career exploration and work-based learning opportunities for students to strengthen engagement, college and career readiness, and postsecondary outcomes. This role collaborates with school leadership, industry partners, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to connect students with real-world experiences that strengthen academic, technical, and employability skills. The specialist also supports career readiness programming, student certifications, and postsecondary planning while promoting equitable access to opportunities and reducing barriers to participation. The position is responsible for tracking student participation and outcomes, maintaining required documentation, and using data and educational partner feedback to improve program effectiveness and expand access to high-quality career readiness opportunities aligned with the school’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). This position is funded through LCFF Supplemental and Concentration funds and supports the implementation of supplemental services and programs aligned with the school’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to improve student engagement, college and career readiness, postsecondary outcomes, and access to career exploration and work-based learning opportunities, particularly for unduplicated pupils.
