About The Position

Samueli Academy is seeking a full-time, dynamic and results-driven Work-Based Learning Coordinator (WBLC) to provide strategic support to the overall Career and College Readiness of our students. The coordinator will secure key partners to provide students with robust career-based experience. The WBLC will report to the Head of School. The WBLC will provide enhanced educational opportunities for students by developing business and community partnerships resulting in work-based learning opportunities such as internships, job-shadowing, industry tours, career workshops and more. Requires the ability to successfully maintain positive relationships with students, staff, community partners, and parents/caregivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience networking in the community including public presentations
  • Experience coordinating high level of detail, timelines, and relationship management.
  • Proficient in word processing and databases (excel, sheets, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting in community settings
  • Bilingual (Spanish English) preferred
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
  • Position requires DMV clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students in the context of work-based learning programs.
  • Communicate clear expectations to staff, students, and parent/caregivers to create successful network of support for consistent quality work-based experiences for all students.
  • Provide targeted support to help students learn to navigate and overcome barriers to participation in the work-based learning program.
  • Develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with staff to support classroom-based work-based learning curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local business/industry/ and community organizations fostering work-based learning opportunities.
  • Collect, maintain, summarize, and presents data related to work-based learning program outcomes.
  • Promote the WBL program via social media, publications, and networking events.
  • Hold regular meetings with community partners in support of ongoing improvement of work-based learning program.
  • Plan, coordinate and direct campus-wide work-based conferences, tours, and site placement for students grades 7-12.
