About The Position

GTECH Information Technology is seeking a hands-on WordPress Specialist to build and maintain WordPress websites for brands across the Middle East. The role covers the website development process from approved design through front-end and back-end implementation, including pixel-accurate, responsive builds and custom functionality. The position requires a native Arabic speaker who can read and write Arabic and build and test right-to-left layouts, Arabic typography, and bilingual Arabic/English websites. The specialist will work with designers, project managers, and the SEO/marketing team to deliver clean, fast, secure, and SEO-friendly WordPress sites. Work includes themes and plugins, WooCommerce, performance and security, deployments, migrations, and maintenance across an existing website portfolio. The role is remote and delivery-focused.

Requirements

3–5 years of hands-on WordPress development experience, ideally in an agency or multi-site environment.
Native Arabic speaker with Arabic reading and writing ability, and the ability to build and quality-check Arabic/RTL and bilingual websites.
Strong English for team communication.
Strong front-end skills in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript and jQuery, and responsive design.
Strong WordPress back-end skills, including PHP, MySQL, WordPress theme and plugin APIs, and hooks and filters.
Hands-on experience with ACF, custom post types, and custom fields.
Experience translating design files into clean, faithful, responsive WordPress builds.
WooCommerce experience.
Familiarity with page builders such as Elementor and/or Gutenberg blocks.
Understanding of WordPress security, performance optimization, and Core Web Vitals.
Comfort with Git and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to work remotely, self-manage, communicate reliably, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Experience with multilingual plugins such as WPML or Polylang.
Basic on-page SEO awareness, including clean markup, schema, and page speed.
Experience with headless WordPress, REST APIs, or custom API work.
Familiarity with Node/React or Laravel.
Experience with CI/CD or automated deployment tools.
A portfolio of live WordPress and Arabic/RTL sites.

Responsibilities

Convert approved designs from Figma, Adobe XD, or PSD into responsive, pixel-accurate WordPress themes.
Build and customize WordPress themes and child themes using front-end and back-end technologies.
Develop custom functionality, including custom post types, taxonomies, ACF fields, and custom plugins.
Build and maintain Arabic/RTL and bilingual sites, including RTL layouts, Arabic typography, and multilingual setups.
Use page builders such as Elementor and Gutenberg where appropriate, and determine when custom development is preferable.
Build and maintain WooCommerce stores where required.
Optimize websites for speed, Core Web Vitals, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
Apply WordPress security best practices and keep core, themes, and plugins updated and secure.
Handle site migrations, staging-to-live deployments, backups, and basic hosting and DNS tasks.
Debug and resolve theme, plugin, and performance issues across the existing site portfolio.
Use Git for version control and collaborate through a shared workflow.
Coordinate with designers, project managers, and the SEO team to deliver builds that meet the brief, deadlines, and SEO needs.
