The Woodworker constructs and repairs items such as boxes, crates, pallets, and storage bins from wood and wood substitutes. This role involves studying specifications, measuring, marking, and cutting boards using patterns, templates, rulers, pencils, and hand and power saws. The worker fastens or installs parts using a hammer, nailing machine, or power staple, and repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts. Additionally, they may build crates around objects, fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork on vehicle sides and beds, apply preservative to prolong wood life, and pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers. This position reports directly to the Installation Supply Maintenance Supervisor.
