About The Position

Blue Ridge Lumber (BRL) is currently recruiting for a Woodlands Operations Supervisor. Reporting to the Woodlands Operations Superintendent, the Woodlands Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day harvesting operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of operational plans while supporting West Fraser’s commitment to sustainable forest management.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Forestry or a related discipline
Several years of experience in woodlands or harvesting operations
A registered Professional Forester (RPF) of Registered Professional Forest Technologist (RPFT) designation in Alberta (or be eligible and willing to earn this designation)
Strong leadership and contractor management experience
Working knowledge of Alberta forest practices, regulations, and safety standards
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with MS Office applications; experience with forestry systems is an asset
Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise logging contractors and field operations to safely achieve production targets
Ensure compliance with company safety standards, environmental requirements, and provincial forest regulations
Monitor harvesting, road building, and hauling activities to ensure operational efficiency and cost control
Coordinate daily and weekly operating plans with contractors and internal partners
Identify and resolve operational challenges in the field in a timely and effective manner
Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, First Nations, stakeholders, and internal teams
Participate fully in West Fraser’s Safety Management System to support an injury-free workplace
Support reporting requirements, operational tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
