About The Position

This role involves the final preparation of product for the finish room operation. The Wood Sander will be responsible for hand-finishing products using various hand tools and repairing products as needed. This position requires attention to detail to ensure product aesthetics meet standards and the ability to read and comprehend job tickets and drawings.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

Finishing product, by hand, using a variety of hand tools, including, but not limited to: files various knives, hand routers, sand paper, orbital sander and trimming devices
Repairing product as necessary using a variety of products, including, but not limited to: putty, bondo, wood filler, and adhesives.
Repairing product as necessary using a variety of methods and processes
Checking parts for aesthetics
Read and comprehend job tickets, drawings, quality policies, procedures, and standards
Ability to calibrate and use a tape measure, set-up, adjusts and uses small power tools, such as routers and drills.
Ability to inspect product to insure compliance to standards
Ability to adequately maintain inventory for all sanding supplies and requisition replenishment as required
