About The Position

Performs operation to sand exposed wood frame parts, frame subassemblies, and/or materials. Works with a variety of parts as assigned, performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work meets quantity and quality standards.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a pump sander, lever stroker, and pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug).
• Proficiency in using glue and wood putty to fill cracks.
• Skill in neatly stacking wood parts and keeping count of completed/needed parts.
• Ability to notify lead or supervisor of missing parts.
• Capability to maintain a clean and neat work area.
• Willingness to perform other duties as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Roll cart/buggy of parts to work station.
• Sand wood parts to desired texture as required, breaking sharp edges as needed using pump sander, lever stroker.
• Use pneumatic orbital sander (jitterbug) and apply light pressure to smooth out the wood parts and frame.
• Use glue and wood putty to fill in cracks with a chisel and putty knife.
• Neatly stack wood parts on buggy as completed, keep count of how many parts are completed/needed based on ticket. If parts are missing, must notify lead or supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and neat.
• May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
