Wood Cutter- TPT
About The Position
The Realty Wood Cutter responsibilities include wood cutting for approved households who are primarily wood heat or wood heat with propane and have an approved housing lease or current residential lease. The Coronavirus Pandemic created a shortage in services for fire wood for ceremonial and home use. This role involves providing community members with pandemic related wood cutting needs for home wood burning in the cold months, for funerals and ceremonies. All wood cutting jobs are coordinated after completing the application for the winter heating program. All documentation of work requested and completed will be maintained in the department of Realty for future evaluation and use.
Requirements
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and proficiently with very little supervision.
- Motivation to perform the duties to completion.
- Must be a self-starter with lots of initiative to get any job done who is ready to move on to the next job.
- Ability to attend required trainings and successfully complete all trainings then apply that information to the tasks required.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Driver's license required.
- Applicant must be insurable.
- Must pass background check.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Verify all wood cutting requests are valid and ready for implementation.
- Obtain a map of the area to be utilized for cutting from the Realty Director.
- Pay attention to the type of wood to be used for which cutting.
- Monitor wood piles to ensure proper use and no abuse of services takes place.
- Track the percentage of Job completed vs percentage of Job remaining.
- Perform snow removal duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
