About The Position

The Women's Veterans Service Coordinator provides support and case management to Women Veterans and their families experiencing homelessness by providing permanent housing and supportive services. Organize events and gatherings for Women Veterans including family-friendly opportunities, virtual gatherings, and educational experiences.

  • Ability to support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.
  • Act 33 and Act 34 clearances required.
  • Position requires a valid PA driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate degree in Social Work or Social Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years successful experience in human services, case management or housing counseling preferred.
  • Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive case management, referrals to internal and external programs and financial assistance to Women Veterans and their families
  • Support Veterans during their transition from homelessness to permanent housing through GPD Bridge housing for Women
  • Foster and develop relationships with community organizations and resources such as permanent housing providers, social service providers, and family-based services
  • Maintain client files and ensure appropriate documentation
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA requirements at all times
  • Participate in special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community
  • Plan and lead Women Veterans groups throughout VLP’s service delivery area
  • Build partnerships with organizations in order to hold events and groups off-site
  • Schedule topical activities and events to appeal to a wide range of interests
  • Advocate for Veterans, VLP, and build a network of volunteer support
  • Schedule public speaking events throughout service delivery area to connect Veterans to VLP resources
  • Create Women Veterans Mentor Program, providing career-focused development opportunities, empowerment, camaraderie, and networking for Women Veterans
