About The Position

Performs coaching and promotional functions, including fundraising, for the ACC women's volleyball team. This is a temporary part-time, exempt position, paid by stipend, subject to annual review and appointment. The season runs from August through November, with practice beginning in late summer. Recruitment and other related activities may extend beyond the season. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The role involves assisting in the direction and coordination of the volleyball program, including planning, organizing, and coaching. It also includes assisting with recruitment, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with college, conference, and NJCAA policies. The position supports the academic, athletic, and personal development of student athletes and requires adherence to all ACC and Athletic Department policies and procedures. The assistant coach will help conduct daily practices, travel with the team to games and tournaments, and plan/coordinate the pre-season conditioning program. Other program services may be provided as directed by the Women's Volleyball Head Coach and Athletic Director. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

  • Coaching experience at any level.
  • Demonstrated administrative and leadership qualities required.
  • Must possess current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong computer skills including computer, phone, e-mail and text messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the direction and coordination of the volleyball program in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the women's volleyball program.
  • Assist with recruitment of team members.
  • Assist head coach with equipment maintenance and storage at the completion of the coaching season.
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with College, conference, and NJCAA policies and regulations.
  • Support the academic, athletic, and personal development of the student athletes.
  • Follow all ACC and Athletic Department policies and procedures.
  • Assist head coach with conducting daily practices (practice schedule varies from early morning to evening).
  • Travel with team to all games and tournaments.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate pre-season conditioning program.
  • Provide other program services as directed by the Women's Volleyball Head Coach and Athletic Director.
  • Supervise intercollegiate athletes.
