About The Position

Our GYN Oncology and Urogynecology outpatient clinics are seeking a Women's Services Technician with strong procedural experience and sterile technique handling to assist with a wide range of in-office procedures. This is a highly procedure-focused role. Travel between our Brookfield, Mukwonago, Oconomowoc, and Waukesha locations is required. The Women’s Services Technician coordinates and delivers care in collaboration with Physicians and APP in the Women’s Services outpatient clinics. Requires strong organizational and communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Strong procedural experience in a clinical or surgical setting.
  • Comfort in assisting providers during hands-on, procedure-heavy patient interactions.
  • Knowledge of instrument sterilization, aseptic technique, and quality control.
  • Flexibility to travel between ProHealth Care’s Brookfield, Mukwonago, Oconomowoc, and Waukesha locations.
  • Associate’s Degree or certification as an LPN, Surgical Tech, CNA, or Medical Assistant (active or expired registry accepted).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with direct procedural assistance experience.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Associate’s Degree, (or other 2-year degree), LPN, Surgical Tech, CNA or MA
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Wisconsin, Surgical Tech, CNA or MA

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on procedural support in GYN Oncology and Urogynecology, assisting providers in a variety of in-office procedures, including: Urethral bulking, Hysteroscopy, Cystoscopy & Cystoscopy with Botox, CO₂ Laser treatments, Bladder instillations, Biopsies.
  • Ensure and maintain sterility in procedural areas, properly handling surgical instruments, and preparing sterile fields.
  • Support patient care by taking vitals, obtaining specimens for lab testing, and assisting in patient positioning during procedures.
  • Utilize Epic to document procedures, test results, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Monitor supply inventory, track expiration dates, and uphold JCAHO and CMS compliance standards.
  • Assists physician or APN before, during and after clinic visit through organization of procedure/exam room and supplies, preparing patient, anticipating technical needs, and procedure/exam assistance. This includes previewing schedules to anticipate special needs of patients, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provides verbal report of patients pertinent past history to practitioner.
  • Performs Point of Care Testing: urine dipstick; hem occult testing.
  • Assists in collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Epic charting includes: entering vitals and urine microanalyses (dipstick), updating medication & allergy lists, entering pended orders for lab testing (microbiology, pathology, cytology), and documents “team time outs”.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic technique, equipment use and maintenance.
