About The Position

The Women's Center is dedicated to providing an open, encouraging and nurturing environment for the students of San Francisco State University. The primary goal of our organization is to provide a safe place for everyone who relies on our resources and supports our ongoing mission to combat misogyny and patriarchy. We welcome all perspectives on issues that pertain to gender equity and strive to educate, provide, and advocate for our campus community and beyond. The office is located in office T-116 of the Cesar Chavez Building.

Requirements

• Current student at San Francisco State University taking at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Strong de-escalation skills
• Knowledge of Women’s Center resources
• Outreach skills necessary
• Experience managing a team/coordinating volunteers

Nice To Haves

• Previous volunteer in the Women's Center preferred
• Relationship with external campus organizations is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director with planning a minimum of 3 Women's Center events per semester, which includes the AS Women's Conference in Spring.
• Organizes and facilitates rap/support group sessions
• Contributes to and submits written monthly and annual reports to Supervisor
• Orders student support supplies following AS purchasing process maintains office supplies, as well as safe sex supplies
• Promotes available WC student support services through marketing and outreach
• Schedules and coordinates internal functions of the Directors by making appointments and room reservations for meetings
• Maintains inventory of books
• Oversees the Program’s Internship by recruiting, tracking intern hours, and supporting with onboarding and end of semester intern recognition
• Supports with design and social media requests to create marketing materials for annual and outreach events
