About The Position

The primary purpose of the Staff Assistant position is to perform a wide variety of administrative and support services within the department. Assists in the planning and support of program activities. Assists in the review, analysis, and maintenance of scheduling and other assigned key processes. Service provided is patient centered. Responsible for providing administrative, analytical, computing and staff support for the department. Appraises the adequacy and effectiveness of computer systems; assists in the development of the organizational structure and methods of operation necessary for the performance of existing, new, or expanded functions. Assists in developing, preparing, and executing budgets, plans of organization, and methods; assists in evaluating budget requests and making recommendations on these requests. Serves as principal liaison between the department and other administrative units such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and Hospital Information Services and Technology. Understands and adheres to University Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in University Hospital's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and University Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in liberal arts, public or business administration or a related field, plus one (1) year of experience in a business office, government agency or university setting.
  • Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be proficient in computer applications as required by the department
