About The Position

The Salvation Army Clitheroe Center is seeking a Part-Time Women's Behavioral Health Associate to support clinical staff in assuring treatment outcomes. This role involves supervising client activities and chores, performing data entry, preparing paperwork, conducting client intakes and orientation groups, documenting client behaviors, assisting with operational functions and scheduling, monitoring clients, providing client education, accompanying clients on approved passes, and facilitating client recovery skills groups as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Some additional education or training to perform clinical and clerical functions.
  • One year’s experience in the field of substance abuse, homelessness, or related fields.
  • One year’s experience in clerical and data entry work.
  • Proficiency in using general office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite, databases, Intergy EHR, and report-generating programs.
  • Knowledge of or experience in client care in a clinical or medical setting.
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural issues.
  • Knowledge of peer support mentorship, advocacy, and recovery support.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Acceptable criminal history record.
  • Ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative work environment and to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with general office equipment including computers and related software, with Windows applications, databases, and report-generating software.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with peers, supervisors, clients, families, and visitors.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks, meet deadlines, observe confidentiality, remain self-motivated, and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and apply concepts such as ratios and percentages in practical situations.
  • Must complete the online course for Sacred Boundaries and Protect the Mission.
  • Must pass the Background Check required by The Salvation Army for employment.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate a telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
  • Ability to understand written information.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising client activities and chores.
  • Performing data entry into databases.
  • Preparing paperwork.
  • Conducting client intakes and orientation groups.
  • Documenting client behaviors in EHR.
  • Assisting with operational functions and scheduling.
  • Monitoring clients.
  • Providing client education.
  • Accompanying clients on approved passes.
  • Facilitating client recovery skills groups as needed.
  • Maintaining internal program statistics, referrals data, and follow-up records.
  • Entering data into Intergy EHR, AKAIMS, and other databases.
  • Performing electronic transmissions and producing related reports.
  • Performing filing in client charts.
  • Scheduling rooms for educational sessions, group sessions, and other uses.
  • Performing note-taking, staff hotline, and/or telephones as needed.
  • Assisting with preparing and submitting critical incident reports and corrective actions.
  • Performing client intake and program orientation.
  • Leading house routines and monitoring clients' behavior, notifying primary counselor via EHR documentation when action is needed.
  • De-escalating clients in emergency situations using crisis intervention techniques, and immediately contacting supervisor and/or counselor.
  • Completing appropriate training on medication distribution procedure, obtaining medications for clients, observing client self-administration of medication, and completing required documentation.
  • Supporting clients in completing assignments and step work and providing feedback.
  • Giving presentations and leading discussion sessions with clients.
  • Transporting clients on approved passes.
  • Obtaining urinalysis specimens from clients, as assigned.
  • Attending staff meetings and completing required trainings.
  • Adhering to all confidentiality regulations as well as 42 C.F.R., Part 2 and C.F.R., Parts 160 and 162 (HIPAA).
  • Documenting client services in the electronic health records system.
  • Facilitating Recovery Living Skills groups as needed.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
