About The Position

The Senior Solution Architect owns the design of North American implementations for a configurable operations platform serving mid-market manufacturers and distributors. The platform covers warehouse management, manufacturing execution, and transportation. The role focuses on new implementations and larger scope changes, while smaller changes, enhancements, and day-to-day support are generally handled by other team members. The architect also contributes to first-line support as part of the wider delivery group. The role involves working with clients on site in plants and warehouses to understand their operations, document business requirements, design solutions, and confirm completed configurations match what was agreed. The architect follows shared global design standards and produces specifications clear enough for an international configuration team to build from independently. The position reports to the regional Head of Delivery and includes client discovery, approvals, build review, training, user acceptance testing, go-live support, transition to support, and coaching US-based business systems colleagues.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years designing and implementing operational software in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution settings, with personal ownership of requirements and design.
  • Proven experience writing functional specifications or requirements that others have successfully built from.
  • Experience working directly with plant and operations leaders, leading workshops, and handling difficult scope discussions.
  • Full lifecycle implementation experience through go-live, including design, validation, training, user acceptance testing, and on-site cutover.
  • Comfort working with a build team in another country and time zone.
  • Ability to take on full design responsibility without a long ramp-up.
  • Based in the US and able to travel regularly to client sites across North America.
  • Flexibility to occasionally start early, around 7:00 AM ET, to overlap with international colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in industrial engineering, information systems, or a related field.
  • Mid-market ERP experience, such as SYSPRO or Acumatica, and understanding of how shop-floor data moves in and out of ERP.
  • Experience with low-code or configurable platforms rather than custom development.
  • Hands-on work with barcode scanning, RFID, scale integration, or other shop-floor data capture.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members on design approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site client discovery, including floor walks, process reviews, and workshops, to understand operational processes.
  • Write detailed, buildable requirements specifications that clearly define scope and exclusions.
  • Design solutions using standard templates as a starting point; determine what to configure, what processes clients should change, and what should not be built.
  • Present designs to clients and internal leadership for approval before configuration begins.
  • Review completed builds against specifications before client review and resolve gaps with the build team.
  • Train client super users, run user acceptance testing, and manage resulting adjustments.
  • Provide on-site go-live support until the client is running live production on the system.
  • Transition clients to support, documenting open items, agreeing escalation paths, and briefing the support team.
  • Coach US-based business systems colleagues on design methods as they take on more design work.
  • Contribute to first-line support as part of the wider delivery group.

Benefits

  • Company-paid medical coverage for employees, with options for family coverage.
  • Employer HSA contributions.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Dental and vision plans.
  • Disability and life insurance options.
  • Additional voluntary benefits, including telemedicine, legal services, and pet insurance.
