About The Position

Merchandisers promote the sale of live plants by creating and maintaining displays based on plant characteristics and each Garden Center’s layout. They unload plant carts onto fixtures and maintain displays by culling and condensing plants. The position does not directly manage employees or supervise a team. Employees work primarily outdoors and may travel between locations in their assigned District, with occasional indoor work. Some administrative duties may include submitting photographs and completing surveys. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and use a smartphone. Fluency in English and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The role involves working in outdoor elements, including dust and allergens, and meeting the physical demands described in the posting. All employees may be asked to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed. Requirements

Experience with plants and retail merchandising, or a desire to learn about them.
Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely and ensure tasks are completed as required.
Demonstrated reliability in following through on assignments.
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety guidelines and protocols.
Flexible availability, including weekends and key holidays during peak seasons, based on business needs.
Willingness to embrace company culture.
Ability to work in outdoor elements, including dust and allergens.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and use a smartphone.
Fluency in English and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write.
Ability to lift and push up to 35 pounds unassisted, occasionally up to 50 pounds, and perform a buddy lift for 51–100 pounds.
Ability to walk, squat, twist, bend, reach, and occasionally climb stairs or step stools under five feet.

Responsibilities

Maintain merchandising standards by executing live nursery programs.
Keep live goods displays fresh, neat, clean, and organized according to the layout.
Unload plant carts onto fixtures and maintain display appearance by culling and condensing plants.
Communicate regularly with the District Manager, Team Lead, and appropriate store staff.
Inform a supervisor about issues involving displays, product quality, safety, or store partners.
Maintain a professional and customer-friendly attitude.
Provide customer service and assistance with live goods.
Follow company safety protocols to maintain a safe working and shopping environment.
Follow customer and vendor policies and procedures in daily work.
Complete other duties as assigned.
