About The Position

Crossroads Turning Points is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Withdrawal Management Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to make a difference by helping individuals facing substance misuse and mental health challenges build healthy lifestyles that support their long-term recovery. The dedicated team provides personalized care in an environment that fosters healing. Responsibilities include assisting with coordinating and monitoring patient activities and day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift. The position is available for both full-time and part-time employment across 2nd and 3rd shifts. All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana testing), background checks, and a TB test.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Current certification as a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of the hire date is required.
  • Prior experience with substance misuse, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • CPR and First-Aid certification (initial training and renewals paid for by the agency).
  • Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating and monitoring patient activities and day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift.
  • Take vital signs as needed (training will be provided).
  • Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients.
  • Obtain pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical, social history, and patient needs.
  • Provide the agency physician with information on medical issues, medication clearance, and monitor medications according to operating policy and the physician’s instructions.
  • Provide case management services to all patients enrolled in the withdrawal management program.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Monitor patients throughout the shift.
  • Assist in medical/mental health treatment referrals and inform supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of typical withdrawal management functions.
  • Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
