About The Position
Crossroads Turning Points is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Withdrawal Management Specialist. This role involves assisting with coordinating and monitoring patient activities and the day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift. The company focuses on helping individuals facing substance misuse and mental health challenges build healthy lifestyles for long-term recovery, providing personalized care in a healing environment. The position is available for full-time and part-time shifts (2nd & 3rd). All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana), background checks, and a TB test.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Current certification as a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of the hire date is required.
- Prior experience with substance misuse, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
- Solid communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- CPR and First-Aid certification (initial training and renewals paid for by the agency).
- Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.
Nice To Haves
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with coordinating and monitoring patient activities and day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift.
- Take vital signs as needed (training will be provided).
- Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients.
- Obtain pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical, social history, and patient needs.
- Provide the agency physician with information on medical issues, medication clearance, and monitor medications according to operating policy and the physician’s instructions.
- Provide case management services to all patients enrolled in the withdrawal management program.
- Conduct individual and group sessions.
- Complete necessary paperwork.
- Monitor patients throughout the shift.
- Assist in medical/mental health treatment referrals and inform supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of typical withdrawal management functions.
- Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
