We invite a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Withdrawal Management Specialist for our program. This role involves coordinating and monitoring patient activities, as well as managing the daily operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift. This position is for the 3rd shift, 12 midnight to 8:00 am. All applicants must undergo a pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana testing), a comprehensive background check, and a TB Test.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HS diploma or GED.
  • Current certification as a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) or the ability to obtain certification within 18 months from the hire date is required.
  • Prior experience with the substance misuse field, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • CPR and First-Aid certification (agency covers costs for initial training and renewals).
  • Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in human services or a related field, such as an AA or BA, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs as required (training provided).
  • Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients.
  • Obtain pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical and social history, and patient needs.
  • Provide the agency physician with information on medical issues and medication clearance, and monitor medications in accordance with operating policies and the physician's instructions.
  • Provide case management services to all patients enrolled in the chronic withdrawal management program.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.
  • Monitor patients throughout the shift.
  • Assist in medical/mental health treatment referrals.
  • Inform supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of typical withdrawal management functions.
  • Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
