POSITION TITLE: Withdrawal Management Aide Non-Exempt Position RESPONSIBLE TO: WM Supervisor & Program Director MAJOR DUTIES: The WM Aide provides shift coverage and case management of clients residing in the sub-acute detox unit. This position provides direct support and supervision to patients undergoing medical detoxification from substances. This role ensures a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while assisting medical staff in the monitoring of patient care. In providing these services, the incumbent performs the following duties: Ensures an environment that promotes health and safety of patients Collaborate with nurses, counselors and leadership to support client care plans and treatment. Complete all milieu duties as needed and assigned. Conducts admissions screening and intakes pursuant to Physician’s Standing Orders and Withdrawal Management Policies and Procedures. Develops treatment referrals. Provides discharge planning. Conducts routine checks including safety checks. Observe and report withdrawal symptoms, changes in behavior to medical staff Supports and implements agency policies and procedures. Monitors client’s vitals per Physician’s Standing Orders. Completes charting requirements per WAC 246-341, 246-326, Detox Physician’s Standing orders, and WM policy. Assists with coverage in other departments or units when staffing levels are low as directed by leadership. Demonstrates flexibility by providing cross-coverage support to other programs during program needs. Monitor patients through the detoxification process to ensure safety and compliance with program rules. De-escalate conflicts and respond to crisis situations using approved interventions. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR/ 1 st Aid certification required.
  • Current unencumbered driver license and proof of current car insurance required for staff members
  • Understand the forms, stages, and manifestations of addictive behavior.
  • Have the ability to write detailed progress notes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Great attendance.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Nice To Haves

  • knowledgeable about chemical physiology (have taken drug physiology class at an accredited college or university,
  • Possess a working understanding of the detoxification process and the signs and symptoms that warrant transfer to a medically supervised detox center.
