About The Position

This role involves the cleaning, repair, testing, installation, and maintenance of NOV WFL Brand products at NOV Service Facility(s) and occasionally at customer facilities. The technician will be responsible for communicating product failures and feedback reports, providing supporting documentation, and completing work pack documentation in a timely manner. The position also includes servicing and repairing customer property items related to the WFL Aftermarket business unit, ensuring all work adheres to QA procedures and departmental work instructions, and maintaining a quality-minded, tidy, and accurate approach to all tasks. The technician will actively participate in training, engage in additional job activities as requested, disassemble equipment for repairs, request and install parts according to instructions and drawings, and function test repaired equipment to ensure it meets full specifications. Compliance with NOV Company and HSE policies, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and utilizing safe work habits are also key aspects of this role. Other work-related tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years’ experience with the operation and/or maintenance of Wireline Winch units (land and offshore) required.
  • Must have experience with the service, repair, and maintenance of Wireline winch units.
  • Computer proficiency/experience required - Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Valid driver’s license required – as you will be operating a company vehicle (only as required).
  • Must be willing & able to work overtime as required & an on-call schedule.
  • Operation of overhead cranes and forklifts, etc. as required.
  • Ability to read and apply assembly drawings/procedures.
  • Must be able to work in factory environment which may include but are not limited to: high noise level, vibration, fumes, dust, and odors.
  • Working conditions may be inside and outside with extreme temperatures.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of both rig and completion well site operations a plus.
  • Electrical, Pneumatic and hydraulic background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, repair, test, install, and maintain NOV WFL Brand products at NOV Service Facility(s) and occasionally customer facilities.
  • Communicate product failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
  • Provide supporting documentation per NOV WFL procedures.
  • Complete and submit work pack documentation in a timely manner.
  • Service and repair of customer property items relating to the WFL Aftermarket business unit.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the QA procedures and departmental work instructions.
  • Ensure all work performed is in a quality minded, tidy & accurate manner, prepare all surfaces and components as necessary to ensure no damage occurs during assembly and testing.
  • Actively participate in training as identified by the Service Manager.
  • Engage in additional job activities as requested by the Service Manager/Supervisor.
  • Disassemble equipment to remove parts and effect repairs.
  • Request parts as required including fabricated parts, install all parts according to instructions given, knowledge of item being assembled and/or following drawings, as required, including needed adjustments and alignment.
  • Function test repaired equipment to ensure it works to full specification.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean & organized work area, utilize safe work habits.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
