About The Position

As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will be part of the team developing and implementing algorithms to enable wireless connectivity between Terrestrial Bluetooth® devices and satellites. You will be involved in all aspects of the modeling, system design and implementation of wireless communication and work with cross-functional groups of hardware-software engineers. This is a full-time position with preference to be based in Seattle, WA (Relocation Assistance Available) but open to a remote work option (for senior/more experienced candidates).

Requirements

  • 2 years of directly relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of communication theory & signal processing-related algorithm design (such as channel estimation, equalization, beamforming, timing recovery, coding, error correction, etc.)
  • Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols; such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay or Bluetooth® /Bluetooth Low Energy.
  • Expertise in developing signal processing and wireless communications systems (e.g., FSK/OFDM/MIMO, etc.) and hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization.
  • Experience with Matlab or Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
  • Experience and knowledge on High Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, FPGA development and emulation systems.
  • Experience on bring-up of real systems in silicon/FPGA/SoC and use of lab test equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to learn new technologies, network protocols and tools rapidly.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when specific highly-critical events dictate as needed
  • Passion for creating state-of-the-art software systems
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident (“green card holder”) as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Nice To Haves

  • 5 - 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience with multi-radio coexistence management.
  • Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware and software control.
  • Experience on low power algorithm design for power critical application.

  • Understand the requirements flow down process and be able to quickly iterate on evolving requirements.
  • Effectively convey ideas and communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations; run self-directed design reviews and participate in reviews of parallel systems.
  • Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever growing and changing needs of an early-stage company.
