Are you ready to do work that matters? This position is responsible for working with senior network personnel to provide network infrastructure that is available, stable, and secure. Networks consist of LAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, and associated communications systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer related courses or two additional years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining wireless network diagrams/documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience scripting or knowledge of programming fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of wireless network management tools and protocols as well as basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and monitor daily wireless network operations and utilize networking tools to search log data and perform analysis on events under the purview of senior network personnel to maintain and increase network effectiveness.
  • Implement technological solutions with guidance from senior analysts on the design, selection, purchase, testing, installation, and documentation of network systems.
  • Help troubleshoot network related issues and assist in identifying and resolving issues before they become critical.
  • Help implement networking processes, tools, and/or software to be used in satisfying business and IT operational needs.
  • Remain aware of advances and current thinking in their areas of responsibility and identify ways to apply latest technologies to improve network effectiveness.
  • Maintain network systems and cable plant documentation in various systems per established processes and standards.
  • Participate in incident management, asset management, change management and continuous improvement of wireless network systems.
