About The Position

Novo Precision is seeking a skilled and dependable Wire EDM (WEDM) Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Wire EDM equipment to produce high-precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a precision manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with tight tolerances. Previous Wire EDM experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong CNC machining experience and a willingness to learn WEDM processes are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating Wire EDM (WEDM) equipment preferred. CNC machining or other precision manufacturing experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances and basic GD&T preferred.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform machine setups and make necessary adjustments during production.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete production documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Wire EDM equipment to manufacture precision components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform machine setups, including loading programs, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, and positioning workpieces.
  • Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect completed parts using appropriate measuring equipment to ensure dimensional and quality requirements are met.
  • Work within tight tolerances and follow established manufacturing and quality procedures.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine, setup, and cutting issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Accurately document production, inspection results, and other required manufacturing information.
  • Work closely with Programming, Engineering, Quality, and other members of the manufacturing team to resolve production issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and efficiency.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
