About The Position

The Electrical Capability has a great opportunity for multiple Wiring Design and Installation Engineers in the Philadelphia, PA area. This role falls within our Philadelphia Design Center and supports a vast portfolio of aerospace products across the Boeing enterprise. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels, specifically Associate and Mid-Level Engineers. This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. This position is not contingent upon program award.

Requirements

• Associate (Level 2) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
• Mid-Level (Level 3) - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
• Focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical and/or mechanical design.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Model-Based Definition (CATIA V5, Solidworks, Siemens, NX), ENOVIA, and PDM.
• Experience working in a cross functional team environment and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in electrical wiring design, wiring installation design, equipment installation design, systems and wiring architecture, FAA/EWIS/military certification, electrical fabrication, and electrical production line support.
• Familiarity with electrical system design principles and relevant regulations.
• Ability to quickly adapt to program tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
• Supports and analyzes results and performs design reviews.
• Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, and geometry, antennas).
• Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
• Follows and documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
• Supports and develops basic statements of work.
• Assists and participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
• Analyzes functional and physical input to ensure development of complete integrated design.
• Works under general direction.
