This specific role will support engineering design and development activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience in design and development of Automotive electrical wiring harnesses and associated components for commodities such as but not limited to Door/Instrument panel/Engine room/roof/floor harnesses
  • Experience in wiring harness routing, wire sizing, bundle diameter calculation, mounting hardware selection
  • Experience in design and development of sheetmetal brackets, and good stamping DFM understanding
  • Ability to understand the electrical schematics and pinouts.
  • 3+ years of Experience using CATIA V5 for 3D modeling, harness routing and drafting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS office

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
  • Create part specification requirements and BOM.
  • Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
  • Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
  • Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
  • Travel to client sites required.
